Why I’m Writing Fewer Stories on Medium

A shift in where you can get your product stories

I’ve been writing on Medium now for a few years and am grateful for the 10k followers that I have, and for a while I was receiving a small amount of money from this.

However, as time passed, despite the increase in followers, the income kept reducing.

It takes time to write posts that people want to read and it’s nice to receive the financial reward for doing so, however, it’s becoming harder to do that at Medium.

As such, I’m now going to be focusing the majority of my writing on Substack, where I’ll be posting some free posts but also subscription-only posts.

In addition, paid subscribers will be able to access an archive of 100+ posts that I’ve written on my own website over the course of the past few years.

I’ll still be writing the occasional story here on Medium, but if you’re keen to receive more frequent and valuable updates then just head over to my alternative home and sign up.
