Nice post Saurabh. Like you, we allocate a % of our available resources to ‘technical’ stories in order to address the debt conundrum. A challenge we have though is getting the engineering team to approach the technical stories with the rigour we do for feature stories. In reality, as you say, it’s all work on the product, but if engineering teams want to address the debt problem they should write real stories, with real benefits for real users, and the work will more easily get prioritised.
